Frequently asked questions

WHEN WILL I BE BILLED?

Billing depends on which payment plan you select.  If you choose to pool pricing then you should top up your account when the remaining pool of messages gets low or your expiration date is approaching.  If using per sim pricing then a top up should happen at least 2 weeks before the last payment’s expiration date is reached to ensure smooth continuation of connectivity service.

CAN I USE AN EXISTING DEVICE WITH TRAQNET SIM?

An existing device can be used.  A modification to the firmware is required.  Hardware remains exactly the same.  The change to firmware is simple and TraqNet can provides documentation to the manufacturer or engineers with how to make that change.

DOES TRAQNET OFFER 2-WAY COMMUNICATION BETWEEN SIM AND INTERNET?

TraqNet provides bi-lateral (2-way) communication.  One of the advantages of TraqNet is that a message can be sent to the SIM at any time, unlike with a traditional data SIMs that requires the SIM to initiate a data connection with network.

DO I NEED TO USE DIFFERENT FIRMWARE SETTINGS FOR ROAMING ON DIFFERENT NETWORKS?

The firmware configuration is exactly the same.  Your hardware will need to work on the network meaning if there’s a 2G network then your 2G device will work, but if there’s no 2G network then your device will need to support 3G.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Bank Transfer (only) for all standard service.  New clients can pay via credit card while in development / testing stage.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRES?

TraqNet offers a fallback plan in cases where subscriptions run out unintentionally.  Check out the pricing section for more details.  If there is no fallback plan in place or funds in the account then service will stop.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REACH A DATA LIMIT?

Same thing that happens when an subscription expires.  Either service ends or service continues using per message pricing as a fallback.  Check details in the pricing page.

HOW SECURE IS MY PAYMENT INFO?

TraqNet doesn’t see or save any of your payment info.  We use third party processors for transaction processing and your payment info is only seen by them.
